Ajutamicristo

The palace is named after Guglielmo Ajutamicristo, a banker of Pisan origin, who had it built for his family between 1495 and 1501. He entrusted the project to the renowned architect Matteo Carnilivari, who was already the creator of Palazzo Abatellis.

It was built by the Branciforte family in the second half of the 17th century on the Spanish military casemates located behind the 16th-century city walls. In 1728, it was leased to the Theatines, who transformed it into the Collegio Imperiale for the education of the nobility.

Its history begins around the mid-15th century, but it only becomes a palace between 1749 and 1759, when Pietro and Marianna Valguarnera, princes of Gangi, surrounded themselves with renowned Sicilian artists and transformed it into a refined and vibrant place.

Palace Beneventano
del Bosco

The ancient medieval palace, purchased by the Beneventano family in 1778, was renovated by Luciano Alì between 1779 and 1788. Notable features of its majestic facade include the medieval masonry with small blocks, especially in the lower section, and the central body.
