Cooking at the Oil Mill
In the hills, just a few kilometers from the sea and the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, a refined countryside residence welcomes curious travelers eager to experience simple and authentic Sicilian cooking.
The setting is that of a farm that produces excellent “monocultivar” extra virgin olive oil—a young, irrigated olive grove with selected native varieties, where “centuries-old olive trees rise up here and there, preserved to honor the work of those who came before us.” The estate also serves as a resort, located in the ancient farmhouse and the renovated areas of a railway station and an old wine press.
By reservation, the hostess organizes Sicilian cooking classes in the farmhouse’s beautiful kitchen for both resort guests and passing visitors. Together, you select the menu, pick vegetables from the garden, and immerse yourself in the timeless tradition alongside the hostess.
