At the Winery at Tasca d’Almerita
Tasca d’Almerita – Regaleali
Regaleali was one of the estates in central Sicily, renowned for the fertility of its soils and the quality of its products. The estate is situated on the pre-Madonie hills of central Sicily at an altitude ranging from 450 to 900 meters above sea level, where the typical Mediterranean climate is somewhat more continental due to the distance from the sea and the proximity of mountains exceeding 1,400 meters.
The estate covers 520 hectares, and despite the development of viticulture over the past 50 years—where vineyards now occupy nearly 360 hectares—all traditional crops have been preserved to ensure a proper agricultural diversity and to maintain the agricultural wealth that is part of the territory.
The tour
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed in the courtyard of Regaleali by the warmth and elegance of a noble Sicilian family, complemented by the simplicity and authenticity that only a rural atmosphere can provide. The true star of this estate is the land itself, cherished and respected over time, even before the wine.
You will be guided through the estate by Corrado, who cannot hide his passion for wine and his work. After spending a few hours or a day here, you’ll leave with a wonderful feeling, knowing that it is possible to be a large estate, produce great wines, achieve international success, while remaining faithful to a land that, as the owners like to say, “has been lent to us by our children.”
SOStain is a corporate sustainability program aimed at harmonizing and systematically addressing business choices towards increasing sustainability goals. It focuses on the eco-sustainable recovery of agricultural production, starting with its most important national crop, the vine. It is characterized by a voluntary and proactive approach aimed at enhancing the level of corporate sustainability through concrete practices that can be realized in the short and medium to long term. It combines the fundamental and inseparable dimensions of development: social, economic, ethical, and environmental, and is realized through a “phased sustainability process” capable of leading to gradual improvements in sustainability levels and encouraging continuous conscious behavior.
